I'm Leigh. I've always loved mucking about with a pencil and have always had too many ideas, which led me to work in London, Hong Kong and Spain as an award winning advertising art director.
I've also created illustrations for companies ncluding Camelot, Tanqueray Gin, First Direct, The Crafty Kit Company, NB Distillery, Elle Magazine, TV Times, Lurzers archive, The Womens Artists Diary, The AOI annual, and my pictures also hang in various rooms around the world, including above the piano of Steven Isserlis CBE and Connie Shih.
I was a finalist in the Scottish Portrait Artists Award 2020 and 2021, and I'm proud to be a part of this years Sky TV Portrait Artist of the Year, where I got to paint the lithe and lovely Alexa Chung.
I love scribbling and doodling and mostly I love painting people - the challenge of using strong lines to capture a person.
It's taken me years to realise how much I enjoy making marks and experimenting, and this website is my version of an old studio in Paris...high windows, half completed canvases, paint tubes and charcoal, the wonderful scent of linseed oil...
it's where I store my paintings, come and have a mooch. If you are feeling very magical, pop over to magic littleletters.com where I store my fondness for all things cute and happy.
